North Carolina metalcore thrashers, Bloodjinn, are currently finishing up the writing process to their new album, 'Between Breaths', which is tentatively set for an April 2008 release on Forsaken/Koch (the former is owned by front man Joel Collins). The recording and production will be a collaborated effort between the band guitarist Kyle Odell at Attack Time Studios and Jamie King at the Basement Studios (Between The Buried And Me, The Human Abstract).
Mike D'Antonio of Killswitch Engage recently wrapped up the album art, while plans of guest appearances from Will Jackson (From A Second Story Window), Josh King (House Of Fools), Adam Cody (Glass Casket) & others to be announced.
Bloodjinn plans launch a pre-production demo version of "Addictions" in the early half of December. They will also perform a hometown headlining show on December 30th, 2008 at Greene Street Club in Greensboro, NC with My Hero Is Me (Tragic Hero) & Return The Hero (Forsaken).

The Montreal Assault Tour, which features headliners Despised Icon, will hit the U.S. this coming February. Support on the bill will come from fellow Canadians Beneath The Massacre, Neuraxis, and The Plasmarifle, along with U.S. deathcore upstarts Carnifex. Despised Icon has posted the following update regarding the upcoming tour on their Myspace page:
"Oh yeah! We'll finally be back in the US in February with our brothers in Beneath The Massacre, Neuraxis and The Plasmarifle! We all grew up around Montreal, went to the same shows when we were younger and even shared bands in the past so this tour is gonna be killer! Since this a US tour, we decided to invite our buddies in Carnifex along for the ride. We just completed a European tour with those dudes, had an awesome time and can't wait to hang out some more!
This will be our 15th and last tour in support of 'The Ills Of Modern Man' and our first time headlining the US. Finally, we’ll be able to play a long ass set, covering all 3 DI records. You can also expect to hear a new song or two on there. Instead of saying my usual “we’re stoked for tour” comment, I’d like to take a few extra seconds to thank all our American fans for supporting us throughout the years. We’ve been extensively touring your country for close to 4 years already and none of this would have been possible without your help and encouragement. See you guys in February!"

Hate Eternal have issued the following update regarding the JFAC tour:
"Hate Eternal have been forced to drop off the ongoing Job For a Cowboy North American tour due an infection in Erik Rutan's hand and complications in his kidney. Erik was admitted to an Iowa City hospital on the early morning of Nov. 23rd and has remained under doctor's supervision since. The infection has caused concern for the doctors, but the major concern has been Erik's kidney.
Erik will not be able to continue the tour, but he is expected to make a full recovery. He is expected to be released sometime next week and then will seek further treatment at home in Florida.
Hate Eternal would like thank to everyone on the tour for their understanding of the situation. Hate Eternal would also like to thank all the fans who have expressed concern for Erik's health."
For more info and updates and to send messages of support for Erik, hit up Hate Eternal's Myspace page.

Yes it is one of those odd holiday weeks where we here in the united states feast on turkey flesh, pumpkin innards and slaughtered potatoes. No, no I am not one of those vegans or veganarians or whatever they are calling themselves now-a-days, but I do like to make my meals seem as brutal as possible so when future society's come accross my works they will hold me in the same esteem as the mighty Ghengis Khan, but anyhoo I digress from my initial point. That being that this week films be hitting the theatres a bit earlier than other weeks and that day is Wednesday.. or in other words today! So as always check out all of the films you can find in releases today below including Sean Penn and Gus Van Sant's MILK biopic, the Baz Lurhmann epic AUSTRALIA with Hugh Jackman and Nicole Kidman, and of course the Vince Vaughn/Reese Witherspoon family comedy FOUR CHRISTMASES and Jason Statham's 3rd entry into the TRANSPORTER series hit theatres as well!

The button eye look very well could take hold and we may very well start seeing legions of mindless youths basically sew their eyes shut, though probably not. Either way 2009 is shaping up rather nicely especially with the addition of the Neil Gaiman written CORALINE which stars the vocal talents of Dakota Fanning, Teri Hatcher and Ian McShane. Keep reading for the official synopsis and the official trailer for FOCUS FEATURES CORALINE which will be in theaters February 6th, 2009!
Synopsis:
Adapted from the Hugo Award-winning, internationally best-selling novel, Coraline is a spine-tingling tale about a curious girl who unlocks a mysterious door in her family's new home and enters into an adventure in a parallel reality. On the surface, this "Other World" eerily mimics her own life - though it is much more fantastical. In it, Coraline encounters different versions of her own life, including off-kilter neighbors and an Other Mother who attempts to keep her forever. Ultimately, Coraline must rely on her resourcefulness, determination and bravery to get back home.
