Victory Pill is the brainchild of
frontman Jim Davies, formerly of The Prodigy and Pitchshifter. In
The Prodigy, his guitars shaped the group’s breakthrough Fat Of The
Land, which included "Firestarter" and "Breathe". In the
electro-metal outfit Pitchshifter, he co-wrote the groundbreaking
www.pitchshifter.com album, along with Deviant and PSI.
Davies' last gig for Pitchshifter was immortalized in the Bootlegged,
Distorted live album.
Victory Pill's self-titled debut album was recently released in the
UK to widespread critical acclaim where the legendary Metal Hammer
Magazine said, "With his familiar grating riffs and hard hitting beats
and rhythms, their impressive debut doesn't fall short on catchy hooks
and memorable tunes without compromising on energy and aggression,
heading a long way towards filling the void Pitchshifter left while
nevertheless carving out their own identity".
"I think the album is a natural progression for me from what I did
with Pitchshifter," says frontman Jim Davies. "There is obviously a
taste of 'shifter in there which is unavoidable as I co-wrote a lot the
last few albums."
Victory Pill will release their self-titled debut in North America
on October 23rd.

NEW MUSIC
SPOTLIGHT: BLACK TIDE |
|
Black Tide burst onto the metal scene
with a month long stint opening up the main stage of Ozzfest. Now with
sights set on an early 2008 release of Light From Above,
their major label debut on Interscope Records, Black Tide will
call the road home over the coming months as they rock the stage with
Avenged Sevenfold. Black Tide is a band you have to see to
believe with members ranging in age from 14-19 who shred like the
legends who inspired them.
Black Tide not only embrace the charisma, character and
unwavering attitude of those who shredded before them, but they do so in
a manner that would make the virtuosos that inspired them proud. The
results are a renegade metallic assault that America hasn’t encountered
since Metallica killed ‘em all in ’83. Black Tide are not only
bringing music back from the dead, but they’re returning the power to
metal. The meltdown is long overdue…

SPOTLIGHT: ENTER SHIKARI |

Enter Shikari has taken their home
country, England, by hostage with a combination of heavy breakdowns,
trance rhythms, and savage live shows. The result – two number one
singles on the UK Rock Chart, sold out gigs and a rabid fan base that
just can’t get enough. As just the second unsigned band to sell out the
London Astoria, Enter Shikari have also found themselves critical
acclaim in the UK rock press. Named "Best Live Band" (2007) by Kerrang!
and awarded for their musical innovation by NME, Enter Shikari
are looking to expand on their success.
With sights set on a stateside invasion, Enter Shikari will
