The Montreal Assault Tour, which features headliners Despised Icon, will hit the U.S. this coming February. Support on the bill will come from fellow Canadians Beneath The Massacre, Neuraxis, and The Plasmarifle, along with U.S. deathcore upstarts Carnifex. Despised Icon has posted the following update regarding the upcoming tour on their Myspace page:
"Oh yeah! We'll finally be back in the US in February with our brothers in Beneath The Massacre, Neuraxis and The Plasmarifle! We all grew up around Montreal, went to the same shows when we were younger and even shared bands in the past so this tour is gonna be killer! Since this a US tour, we decided to invite our buddies in Carnifex along for the ride. We just completed a European tour with those dudes, had an awesome time and can't wait to hang out some more!
This will be our 15th and last tour in support of 'The Ills Of Modern Man' and our first time headlining the US. Finally, we’ll be able to play a long ass set, covering all 3 DI records. You can also expect to hear a new song or two on there. Instead of saying my usual “we’re stoked for tour” comment, I’d like to take a few extra seconds to thank all our American fans for supporting us throughout the years. We’ve been extensively touring your country for close to 4 years already and none of this would have been possible without your help and encouragement. See you guys in February!"

Hate Eternal have issued the following update regarding the JFAC tour:
"Hate Eternal have been forced to drop off the ongoing Job For a Cowboy North American tour due an infection in Erik Rutan's hand and complications in his kidney. Erik was admitted to an Iowa City hospital on the early morning of Nov. 23rd and has remained under doctor's supervision since. The infection has caused concern for the doctors, but the major concern has been Erik's kidney.
Erik will not be able to continue the tour, but he is expected to make a full recovery. He is expected to be released sometime next week and then will seek further treatment at home in Florida.
Hate Eternal would like thank to everyone on the tour for their understanding of the situation. Hate Eternal would also like to thank all the fans who have expressed concern for Erik's health."
For more info and updates and to send messages of support for Erik, hit up Hate Eternal's Myspace page.

Once again, it's time for fans to put in their votes for Ozzfest. In a recent interview, Sharon alluded to Ozzfest returning to the traveling festival platform, but there hasn't been an official statement from the Ozzfest camp just yet. But for what it's worth (if it's worth anything to you that is), head on over and put in your vote(s). Here's the info from Ozzfest.com:
Here it is – your chance to help shape Ozzfest 2009. Tell us who you want to see onstage at next year’s festival! Just head over here and log into your profile. You will then be able to enter up to 5 bands you would like to see on Ozzfest 2009.
Below that you’ll find some questions to answer – and you are welcome to skip those – but the more questions you answer the more times you will be entered into a random raffle for a chance to win a drumhead signed by Ozzy, Zakk Wylde, Mike Bordin, Blasko and Adam Wakeman, which comes with a letter of authenticity on Ozzy stationery.

To celebrate a year since its original release, UK retro-thrashers Evile's debut album 'Enter The Grave' has been reissued as a special redux edition and is now available worldwide!
This limited edition version of Evile's Flemming Rasmussen-produced (Metallica) work features the album housed in a special slipcase, and includes three bonus tracks, an 'Enter The Grave' patch, a guitar pick and a DVD. Clocking in at 2 hours, this exclusive DVD features the band playing the entire 'Enter The Grave' album live in rehearsal, plus live footage from the band's European tour with Megadeth, extensive band interviews and behind-the-scenes footage of the band on the road!
Have a peek at the killer-value 'Enter The Grave' redux edition package at this location.
In related news, Evile guitarist Ol Drake fractured his jaw last week after the band's show in Rotterdam, Netherlands supporting Satyricon.
Ol wrote a blog to update everyone on his situation on Evile's MySpace page:
"Hello from my bed.
Thank you for all the get well messages (even the guy who said we suck, you rule).
Want to start by saying a HUGE sorry to all the people wanting to see us play on the Satyricon tour, I couldn't be more pissed off. I'm the first person to oppose cancelling any gig or tour, unless it's completely necessary. My first worry wasn't even for my health, it was for the tour... And that my beard would be ok.
I literally can't stand up for longer than 5 minutes or I just feel like going back down (took 4 goes to get the X-ray done). I did a highly medical thing called "lose blood". I wish I could have carried on the tour. No energy at all
Will get myself checked but I think I pretty much know why it happened:
During the Canada tour I developed a really bad cold/infection (which Ben caught, putting him in hospital on our return), it got worse when we got home. It developed into a URTI (Upper Respiratory Tracht Infection) so I was put on medication for that. My system was pretty low but I carried on anyway.
With the long drives on this tour, and the vast boredom between shows, I basically slept all the time. When it came to eating, we didn't have much food but I ate what I could that we were given by venues. On top of that we didn't have too much money to buy food (most of it going to lots of petrol) so I was basically not eating enough. I've done enough gigs and tours and not eaten a lot, and physically got by, as the shows themselves are usually good excersise. But I think this time it just caught up with me at a bad time and said "you hit the floor now". I've broken one side of the top of my jaw, detaching a bone which holds the muscle in place. Therefore the muscle is pulling my jaw up on one side. I sound like Stephen Hawking when I talk. Also a bone deep gash on my chin.
I will have to just get myself into good health, as this was basically my own fault.
So again, huge apologies to our fans, Satyricon + Crew (thank you for being cool with us!) and Zonaria."
