There is no better way to open their debut album "Just Breathe..." than with the powerful lyrics: "What's it like, killing time, in this dream called life", describing how singer Pierrick Berube watched his younger sister's life fall between the cracks and his efforts to get her to see what was happening. "I write about how I'm feeling, right then, happy or sad, not about the past or the future."LoveHateHero vocalist Pierrick Berube pours his heart out over ten songs of personal loss, tragedy, heartbreak and betrayal, and the strength to overcome them, in hopes that others will get his messages. While intricate guitar passages and metal-influenced leads are an added bonus to their musical style, LoveHateHero puts their effort into music that drives and progresses seamlessly, and succeeds in capturing their listeners and making fans out of them. "People say we sound different, but we will always be categorized and compared to other bands" says Pierrick. "That's something every band has to deal with sooner or later. It's no big deal, really. We just try to write really good music." But with strong work ethics and morals, and a drug-free lifestyle, they are most definitely different and stand out among many of their peers.LoveHateHero began their collected efforts in the winter of 2003. Several months and ten songs later in a lockout in Burbank, CA, Josh Newman, Paris Bosserman, Pierrick Berube, Mark Johnston and Bryan Ross went into the studio for four months to produce and record their first album. "Being in the studio gives you time to really hear your songs and reflect on what they mean to you" remarks drummer Bryan Ross. "I appreciated the music a lot more after it was tracked."Shortly after completing recording, they embarked on a self-booked, seventeen day ten state tour of the US and Canada. They spent every day, show or no show, on the streets promoting, selling t-shirts, and pushing the label, all while freezing their asses off in the middle of the Pacific Northwest. Already having a full ten-song album, a music video, merchandise, a full street team, a tour under their belt, and a worldwide fan base, it was an easy choice for LoveHateHero to sign with Ferret Records in the early winter of 2005."Our goal is for people to really listen. Hopefully we will make a difference in their lives and still have a killer time doing it."
