Striving for something more than the dullness that their hometown offered, Columbus, Ohio’s Kill What I Adore emerged as a unique and unexpected staple in the heavy metal scene. Originally formed in the fall of 2004, the band has gone through several significant changes since, including the replacement of drummer KB and bassist Corey in early 2007. Now KWIA still enjoys the chance to write and record original heavy music while playing show after show for the craziest, most intense crowds the Midwest has to offer.
Each member is truly invested in creating the tunes they themselves want to hear, as well as throwing them down as brutal as humanly possible onstage. With Myspace alone, the band has received a tremendous response, generating almost 600,000 plays thus far. And while their fan base continues to expand daily, they do their part in trying to remain in close personal contact with each and every one of their listeners.
Though they regularly headline what are considered to be the best venues in their hometown, Kill What I Adore played the 2005 Warped Tour and has shared the stage with countless national acts. They include The Tony Danza Tapdance Extravaganza (Black Market/Metal Blade), Emmure, Beneath The Sky, Dead to Fall and Endwell (all Victory Records, respectively),Misery Signals (Ferret Records), My Bitter End (Uprising Records), TheClassic Struggle (Ironclad Records), As Blood Runs Black (Mediaskare),and Woe Of Tyrants (Metal Blade) among many, many more.
Creative, passionate, honest. These are the words that define Kill What I Adore. And soon to release their new album “Whatever It Takes”, they continue to prove to be one of the most innovative and brutal bands in Ohio and everywhere else.
