The '80s musically were a time of big hair and arena rock. Like a time capsule of rawk, Willie Basse is here to transport listeners back to a classic era of metal that utilized big hooks and catchy choruses to keep listeners mesmerized. Basse's new album "The Money Grind" unapolegitcally waves the flag for '80s metal, proving that when done properly the style can still sound as invigorating as it did two decades ago. "The Money Grind" shifts with the diversity that only a seasoned vetrean could offer. "Don’t Waste My Time” shows Basse's heavier side, while “Unlovable” shreds with some fantastic technical guitar work.
Bottom Line: With the recent revival that bands like Judas Priest, Motorhead and Dio are enjoying, Basse couldn't have picked a better time to unleash great rock record that stands up to some of the best the genre has to offer.
