I have heard quite a lot about The Locust. They’re “experimental noise rock”, “noisecore”, or even “grindcore”. They “have reinvented music” by “bypassing traditional structures and rhythms”. Well, I must say that when I listened to their new album, New Erections, I was very disappointed.
I was really expecting the “music genius” I was told to hear, but instead, it was a very very generic noise rock that I was offered to listen. There is absolutely no originality in this record. And the genius destructuring? None... The music is very structured, there’s none of that “bypassing traditional structures”.

Bottom Line:

Pointless is the word. When it comes to experimental and noise music, one must go further in the experiment. If you are interested in the noise/experimental genre, please check out In A Flesh Aquarium by Unexpect.
