Polis extreme metal titans, Behemoth, recently filmed a video for the song “Inner Sanctum” with director Mateusz “Mania” Winkiel. The video is now available on Myspace, and can be viewed below. The song is taken from the band's latest critically acclaimed release, 'The Apostasy'.
Stated Behemoth mainman Nergal:
“What’s up everybody! Here we finally come with our brand new video…surprised? I fuckin’ hope so. I’m still blown away by the effect myself. Why? Coz it looks like NOTHING I’ve ever seen in the metal genre. Lately it felt like we’ve pretty much explored every territory in the world of music videos, especially with our last clip for “At the left hand ov god”. This time we took completely opposite artistic approach…we went black and white, absolutely no effects, analogue film tape…and something we’re doing for the first time ever: acting. I truly believe this bizarre video will show you a little bit different aspect of Behemoth’s complex nature.
Watch and enjoy!”
Behemoth will soon embark on a tour of Asian territories, which will bring the touring cycle for 'The Apostasy' to a close.
With the release of 'The Apostasy', Behemoth completed their contractual obligations to Century Media and have since signed with Metal Blade. The band's first release under the Metal Blade banner will be an EP entitled 'Ezkaton', which is set for release on November 11th, 2008.

Rock author Joel McIver's twelfth book, 'The 100 Greatest Metal Guitarists', will be published globally in January 2009 by Jawbone Press, the world's leading publisher of guitar titles. Featuring a foreword by Glen Benton of Deicide, the book takes the reader in reverse order from No. 100 to No. 1, the greatest metal guitarist of all time. McIver — a regular contributor to Total Guitar magazine, the biggest guitar mag in Europe — based his selection on the technical ability and historical significance of each player and adds that all generations of metal are covered in the book, with the oldest guitarist aged 61 and the youngest a mere 26.
McIver says, "The idea for this book came to me a couple of years ago after I read a list of the supposed 100 best metal guitarists of all time in a popular guitar magazine that should really know better. The list contained all these non-metal guitarists like Neil Young and Kurt Cobain, so I thought, 'Screw this!' and wrote my own list, which became an 80,000-word book. 'The 100 Greatest Metal Guitarists' features musicians from heavy metal, thrash metal, death metal, black metal, power metal, doom metal and grindcore bands and that's it!"

Chicago alt rockers Madina Lake are pleased to announce 'Attics To Eden' as the title of their second full-length for Roadrunner Records. The band is currently holed up in New Jersey's House of Loud Studio, working diligently on the pre-production stages of the album. David Bendeth (Paramore, Underoath, Killswitch Engage, In Flames) is set to produce and mix 'Attics To Eden'.
'Attics To Eden' follows up the band's 2007-released debut, 'From Them, Through Us, To You'. Madina Lake –comprised of vocalist Nathan Leone, bassist Matthew Leone, guitarist Mateo Camargo and drummer Dan Torelli—lived on the road in support of the album, logging countless miles on their tour van, performing everywhere from pizza joints and basement parties to the second stage of 2007's Projekt Revolution Tour and last summer's Warped Tour as well as the UK’s Download and Give It A Name festivals, cultivating a core of fans so dedicated that to call them "rabid" would be an understatement.
Nathan Leone sheds a little light on the recording process, saying, "After spending the last three months at home in Chicago shaping songs, we're finally tracking our second record. The record's title is 'Attics to Eden' because, lyrically, most of the tracks explore different ways to find psychological refuge in a world that is moving faster than ever. It also serves as the second installment in the story of Madina Lake." Regarding the band's choice of producer, Leone says, "We picked David Bendeth because his track record implies that he has the gift of seeing a band's vision through. For as many hits as he has, his focus lies more on the personality, individual character and musical ambition of artists, as opposed to chasing radio or trends. That is exactly in line with our philosophy, so were expecting a solid match. We are absolutely ecstatic to share this with as many people as possible."
Roadrunner expects to release 'Attics to Eden' in 2009.

Canadian hyperblasters, Kataklysm, are a little over halfway done with their first headlining tour of North America. The tour, presented by CDV Software Entertainment Sacred 2: Fallen Angel video game and dubbed the 2nd annual “Death by Decibels” tour, has become a huge success even in these dark economic times. Vocalist Maurizio Iacono took a moment on his day off to give us the following update from the road:
"Today is a day off in Hollywood, CA and we might go check out that cock rock cover band Steel Panther tonight at the Key Club. Speaking of the Key Club, it was a great show yesterday! The crowd was on fire for all the bands and it was great to see all the fans chanting the lyrics to ‘Prevail’. The album is obviously doing well and the tour has been doing great. Highlights so far have been Chicago, Detroit, Cleveland, all the Texas dates, Los Angeles and the sold out show in San Diego at the Soma.
We’re having a blast with the Norwegians in Keep Of Kalessin, the Swiss folk fuckers in Eluveitie and our old friends in Dying Fetus. It’s been a great ride so far and you if you haven’t seen this package yet do yourself a favor and don’t miss it! It’s really a killer diverse metal package and a good time. Thanks again to all of you for the great support, we know these are hard times in the country and having so many people come out means a lot to us and all the bands. Cheers!”
'Prevail', the most recent CD by Kataklysm, was honored in the "Album Of The Year" in the "Metal/Hardcore" category at the Quebec Indie Music Awards (GAMIQ), an awards show that recognizes achievements by Quebec independent artists. The event was held on Sunday, September 21, 2008 at the Corona Theatre (2408 W. Notre-Dame Street) in Montreal and was produced by the Quebec Independent Music Association which is also behind the Montreal International Music Initiative (MIMI).
