According to an email sent out today by the UFC, the Brock Lesnar Vs. Mark Coleman match will not be headlining UFC 87: Seek And Destroy as previously thought. An announcement on the main event is expected to be made soon.

James Irvin has suffered a broken foot and has been forced to withdraw from his fight with Rashad Evans at UFC 85, Luiz Cane has been lined up to take his place in the fight. UFC 85: Bedlam takes place on June 7th at the O2 Arena in London, England.

Aleksander Emilianenko vs. Paul Buentello has been officially added to Affliction's first ever MMA card, which is set to take place on July 19th. Titled 'Affliction: Banned', the event will air live on PPV from the Honda Arena in Anaheim, CA.

A match-up between heavyweights Cheick Kongo and Dan Evensen has been added to UFC 87. Kongo is coming off a split decision loss to Heath Herring at UFC 82, and Evensen will be making his UFC debut. UFC 87: Seek And Destroy takes place on August 9th at the Target Center in Minneapolis, MN.

With a knee injury forcing Mauricio "Shogun" Rua to step down from his scheduled fight with Chuck Liddell at UFC 85, Rashad Evans has been announced as Rua's replacement. Liddell and Evans will meet at UFC 85: London on June 7th at the O2 Arena in London, England.
Evans, who is still undefeated at 16-0-1, last fought to a decision victory over Michael Bisping at UFC 78 in November and Liddell is coming off a decision win over Wanderlei Silva at UFC 79 in December.

Mauricio "Shogun" Rua has reportedly re-injured the ACL in his left knee, the same knee that Rua recently had surgery on to repair a similar injury. "Shogun" was set to met Chuck Liddell in the main event of UFC 85 on June 5th in London, England. The UFC is now looking for a replacement to take on Liddell.

It was announced last night during UFC 82: Pride Of A Champion that recent UFC Hall Of Fame inductee Mark Coleman will be taking on Brock Lesnar. No date has been set for the matchup, but Coleman mentioned that he will have five months to train for the fight.

UFC 85 appears to already be taking shape, with Tito Ortiz confirming that he will be taking on Lyoto Machida at the event. UFC 85 is set to take place on May 25th at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, NV.
Making the match-up even more interesting, this will be Ortiz's last fight on his current contract with the UFC. Ortiz, a former UFC light heavyweight champion, is not expected to re-sign with the company following this fight; making him a free agent. |
