Ron Veltkamp of Displeased Records has issued the following statement regarding the label's plans to reissue some of Sadus' early classics — Illusions/Chemical Exposure (1988), Swallowed in Black (1990) and A Vision of Misery (1992) — in a remastered form, featuring bonus material, lyrics and biography:

"Just like to set the record straight. The reason for reissuing the first three Sadus albums was not to rip off the band. We like the band and find that their albums deserve to be available and not only for $ 30-50 on eBay. We licensed them officially from Roadrunner and we pay them of course. What their duty is to do with that money is not up to us. The contract RR has with Sadus is the obligation RR has. Since we're not aware of the contents of the contract (only RR and SADUS do) we cannot predict what part will end up with the band. According to Steve's [DiGiorgio, Sadus bassist] comment, we assume it's not much, if anything. No, we don't like that either. When we deal directly with a band, we always pay the band their royalties, but with a license deal, we're not the ones that deal with the band. So don't blame us.

"We would like to make these three albums the final versions, ones that the band, the fans and us are proud of. If you decide not to buy these albums because the band might not get paid for it, we understand the reason, but doubt it will have any positive effect on anyone."
