OK, so let's start with the good and work our way to that other side. SNOW ANGELS from the start thrusts you immediately into the snowy landscapes making sure one knows that this is the normal day to day weather of the small town. Then we are introduced to a high school marching band and their over zealous teacher trying to perfect their half time march or something the like, when out of nowhere two gun shots ring out from the woods behind the practicing band.
From there the film jumps back in time to lead viewers back to the gunshots from the initial scene. As the film does this we are met by a bevy of characters all with their own flaws and imperfections. Seemingly in the middle of all this is Annie and Glenn, whom after having a child together have grown apart with Annie sleeping around with other men and Glenn a recovering alcoholic recently released from the hospital after a failed attempt at suicide.
SNOW ANGELS does a great job of introducing it's characters and making them feel real, but also this takes away as it is really hard for one to care what happens to any of the characters beyond Annie and Glenn's daughter which I believe was the idea behind the plot devices but in the end was not full realized. |

Bottom Line: All in all, SNOW ANGELS is very well filmed and acted but the overall plot leaves some things to be desired in the end. |
